There are national parks, state parks, township parks and impromptu parks. And, as you might guess, many of the Copper Country's parks take advantage of Lake Superior.

Whether you are interested in a four-day adventure on Isle Royale National Park or a picnic near the beach, the Copper Country Trail can take you there. (It can't take you all the way to Isle Royale, but at least will get you to the boat dock.)

You might also try Fort Wilkins State Park, McLain State Park, or one of the numerous local parks. There are also thousands of acres of public, conservancy, and Commercial Forest Act (CFA - open to the public for hunting and fishing) lands, and a number of motorized and non-motorized trail systems, and more.
